😇 Social Media Angel Nudge on Consistency 👊🏽 I've been having conversations this week with clients struggling with consistency. Consistency is important for your social media channels in order to build relationships and engagement. ✨ Consistency builds trust. ✨ Being consistent with your message.
✨ Being consistent with the tone, look and feel of your content. ✨Being consistent with connecting with your community.
Consistency does not mean posting for a week and then not posting again for a month (bit like diet and exercise!) The good news is -
Consistency does NOT mean posting everyday or 5 times a day.
Consistency does not mean never taking time off from social media.
We do NOT in this time and space of information overload need to hear from or connect with people online everyday! Do you even speak to your best friends everyday?
But there needs to be a level of consistency, as with all relationships, for people to get to know you and trust you especially amongst all the noise online. It also helps your online community recognise you.
Rather than needing it to be perfect, I would recommend that you use your social media platforms as a playmat to practise getting in touch with who you are, what you do and with your message.
It is a beautiful exploration tool.
Like anything you want to get good at, you do have to actively commit to the process. So if you want social media to be a key part of your marketing and communications activity, you have to show up for it. “Getting an audience is hard. Sustaining an audience is hard. It demands a consistency of thought, of purpose, and of action over a long period of time.”
As a first step, get clarity on why you are using social media.

I hear so often from people that say they need/want to be on social media because of what social media is, and what they beleive it can do, but are posting rather aimlessly without any kind of strategy or understanding of how they are using it or what they are really using it for (and then become frustrated with the lack of results).
