My daughters competed in and completed a triathlon!!! I am beyond proud! When they finished I felt like I was on cloud 9, or even higher. My emotions were all over the place. Couldnt stop the tears and the memories. This wasn't just a triathlon. It was so much more. It was every moment waiting in the hospital for a call that Izabella's organs were available, it was every day that her sisters spent their toddler years in a playpen next to their sister playing by her bedside at the hospital, it was being told she wouldn't make it, it was being told THEY wouldn't make it. It was forcing siblings to take a journey that they didn't choose, a journey that involved a lot of silence and quiet play, a lot of dark days in the hospital. A lot of focusing attention on the "sick one". A lot of heart ache and wondering if WE would ever survive, if we would ever see daylight. It was every moment that "they" told me she wasn't going to make it. It was every moment that "they" called her a fish out of water. It's the moment they said she wouldn't walk, crawl, talk, or see.... It was everything and more. God you are so good to me. To us!!! 5 and a half years. That's how long we have been here in Gainesville. Thats how long ago we thought we would go back home. But here we are nowand it has been a roller coaster of a ride to get here.... We were a family of 5 thinking we might leave as a family of 4, but now we are SIX!! We started medically paralyzed in the hospital and ended with a triathlon! Just a couple more weeks left here in Gainesville.... My heart could just explode. #GoingOutWithABang #afishoutofwaternomore #Triathlon2017 #GodisSoGood #NeiraGirls
